Just Bed Bugs

Getting rid of bed bugs is not a job you can tackle yourself, don't throw away the beds and buy new, that won't help you, the bugs are everywhere in the bedroom.

In a severe bed bug infestation it is possible to suffer up to 500 bites per night.

Bed bug removal has to be a joint effort between householder and pest controller and organised like a military campaign, it is no use splashing a bit of insecticide around the bed and carpet like you many pest control companies do and hoping to have any measure of success.

Bed bugs live anywhere within about 20 feet of the bed, in wardrobes, drawers, under carpets, in picture frames, even in the

electrical and phone sockets in the room.

For this reason a concerted effort between householder and pest controller is necessary.

The householder needs to prepare the room for us by emptying all drawers and wardrobes, stripping beds to mattress level.

Bedding and contents of drawers etc needs a high temperature wash or placing in a deep freeze for several days to kill all adult bugs and eggs.

We cannot treat personal clothing so that which cannot be washed should be deep frozen or dry-cleaned.

We will do the rest.

What We Do

Bed bug treatments need to follow a carefully designed process as follows:-

a) Correctly identify the pest as bedbugs, the fact that you are being bitten does not necessarily mean you have bedbugs.

b) Treat all beds & matresses with insecticide licenced for the purpose including a growth hormone to prevent development of eggs. Beds may need to be dismantled and the plastic box sheet removed.

c) Treat all room furniture, removing drawers etc and spraying runners and undersides, insides of wardrobes and ancilliary furniture.

d) Treat under carpet edges, wall-floor junctions and the floor area, especially on wooden floorboards.

e) Unscrew all sockets and dust insides.

f) Take down all pictures and treat frames, dado rails, linen baskets etc.
